[PACKET_02_MED]: THE WOUND MANAGEMENT MATRIX
OBJECTIVE: Clean, close, and monitor traumatic skin breaches.
I. THE THREE-STEP CLEANSE
Irrigation: Use clean water (or 0.9% Saline: 1 tsp salt per 500ml water). Squirt with pressure to dislodge debris.
Disinfection: Use Povidone-Iodine (10%) around the wound. If using Hydrogen Peroxide, use only once for initial cleaning (it damages healing tissue if used repeatedly).
Debridement: Remove visible dirt/gravel with sterilized tweezers.
II. CLOSURE LOGIC
Tape/Strips: Best for clean, straight cuts.
Glue (Cyanoacrylate): Use only on the surface to hold edges. Do not get glue inside the wound.
Sutures: Required for deep gaps or high-tension areas (joints).
Technique: Simple Interrupted Stitch (Individual loops).
Spacing: 3-5mm apart.
III. ASCII SUTURE GUIDE
Plaintext

CRITICAL: If wound is red, hot, or "throbbing," OPEN IT.
Drainage is safer than trapped infection (Sepsis).
IV. NATURAL ANTISEPTICS (IF SUPPLIES ARE ZERO)
Honey (Raw): Highly osmotic; kills bacteria. Apply directly to minor burns/cuts.
Garlic: Crushed/diluted as a topical wash (Strongly antimicrobial).
Boiled Plantain Leaf: Use as a clean temporary dressing.
