It's hard to separate technology from biology. Much of their technology was biological for them—though on Earth we would look at it as engineering. But I'll start with perhaps their most unique feature. At least, most unique to us.
You may have seen articles or TED talks about Li-Fi. Basically, light is the optimum known medium for information transmission. Quantum entanglement is another, more potentially advanced option, but we see no de-escalation today from light as the standard. Fibre optics, laser telemetry, ultraviolet remote controls. Li-Fi is the idea that you can transmit information using the visible spectrum as much as the invisible.
Nalinaks use Li-Fi as a staple. Both in an organic and synthetic sense. They are biologically grown to emit stable, reliable Li-Fi. They build machines that work as receptors for their Li-Fi.
Nalinaks do press buttons and turn cranks, but I don't think they've ever touched a keyboard. Not only would it be cringe to watch them try with those stubby fingers, but as long as they have their Li-Fi receptive devices, something as inferior as typing would be one of the silliest jokes imaginable.
