Think about the timing of Disclosure. E.T. is real. But at this point it shouldn't even matter to you if it's real. It would have mattered 50 years ago.

They see you realizing that this is a prison. That realization is bigger than even disclosure. So to keep you from fighting the prison, now they will sell you the lesser of the two revelations.
